The Toronto Blue Jays will look to bounce back in Game 2 of their American League Wild Card Series against the New York Mets on Saturday night at Citi Field. The Mets won the opener 4-3 in 10 innings on Friday night, putting the Blue Jays on the brink of elimination.
The Blue Jays had a chance to win the game in the ninth inning, but Bo Bichette grounded out with runners on first and second. Lourdes Gurriel Jr. then singled to load the bases, but Matt Chapman grounded out to end the inning.
The Mets took the lead in the 10th inning on a home run by Jeff McNeil. The Blue Jays got a run back in the bottom of the inning on a single by Teoscar Hernandez, but they couldn't complete the comeback.
The Blue Jays will send right-hander Chris Bassitt to the mound in Game 2. Bassitt was 15-9 with a 3.42 ERA in 30 starts this season.
