Game Preview: Fever Host Aces for Back-to-Back Matchups Beginning Wednesday

Indiana Fever look to continue dominance over Las Vegas Aces

The Indiana Fever will host the Las Vegas Aces for two straight games on Wednesday, August 2, and Friday, August 4, at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

The Fever currently lead the season series against the Aces 1-0, having won 92-86 in Las Vegas on June 16.

The Aces are the defending WNBA champions and have made another strong run at the title in 2023, with a current record of 21-10 and 1.5 games behind the first-place Dallas Wings.

Fever finding success with new-look lineup

The Fever have found success this season with a new-look lineup, led by 2022 first-round pick NaLyssa Smith.

Smith is averaging 16.8 points and 8.7 rebounds per game, while fellow rookie Lexie Hull is averaging 11.5 points and 3.6 assists per game.

The Fever also have a strong veteran presence, led by Victoria Vivians, who is averaging 15.3 points per game, and Erica Wheeler, who is averaging 6.5 assists per game.

Aces led by MVP candidate A'ja Wilson

The Aces are led by reigning MVP A'ja Wilson, who is averaging 19.8 points, 9.6 rebounds, and 2.4 blocks per game.

Wilson is joined in the Aces' starting lineup by Kelsey Plum, who is averaging 15.7 points and 4.7 assists per game, and Jackie Young, who is averaging 12.9 points and 4.7 rebounds per game.

The Aces also have a strong bench, led by Riquna Williams, who is averaging 9.2 points per game, and Dearica Hamby, who is averaging 8.9 points and 6.2 rebounds per game.

Matchup to watch: Aces vs. Fever frontcourt

One of the key matchups to watch in the series will be between the Aces' and Fever's frontcourts.

The Aces have one of the best frontcourts in the league, led by Wilson and Hamby.

The Fever, on the other hand, have a young but talented frontcourt, led by Smith and Jantel Lavender.

Prediction: Aces to win series 2-0

The Aces are the more experienced and talented team and should be able to win the series 2-0.

The Fever have played well this season, but they will be facing a tough challenge against the Aces.
