50,000 Participants Gather in Anti-Fascist Rally
On May 1st, Hamburg witnessed a series of demonstrations organized by left-wing and far-left groups. The main event, a rally against right-wing extremism and the populist Alternative for Germany (AfD) party, saw an impressive turnout of 50,000 participants, according to police estimates. The organizers voluntarily called off the rally at approximately 4:40 pm.
900 Women Join Protest from Rote Flora
Among the participants were around 900 women who marched from the left-wing cultural center Rote Flora. The protest aimed to denounce the rising tide of far-right sentiment and the AfD's anti-immigrant and anti-democratic rhetoric.
