LSU Wins 2023 NCAA Men's College World Series
Tigers Demolish Florida to Claim Seventh National Championship
LSU defeated Florida 18-4 in the championship game to win the 2023 NCAA Men's College World Series. The Tigers scored 10 runs in the first inning and cruised to an easy victory. LSU's win marks their seventh national championship, the most of any school in the country.
LSU's victory was a dominant performance from start to finish. The Tigers scored runs in every inning and chased Florida starter Hunter Barco from the game after just 2/3 of an inning. LSU's offense was led by Tyler McManus, who went 3-for-5 with 4 RBIs. Dylan Crews and Cade Doughty each added two hits and three RBIs.
Florida's offense was unable to keep up with LSU's onslaught. The Gators managed just four hits off of LSU starter Jacob Hasty, who pitched 6 1/3 innings and allowed just one run.
LSU's victory is a major accomplishment for coach Jay Johnson, who is in his second season at the helm of the program. Johnson has quickly turned LSU into a national powerhouse, and the Tigers are now one of the favorites to win the national championship next year.
