Broberg records his first-career playoff goal as the series heads back to Edmonton
The Edmonton Oilers are one win away from advancing to the Stanley Cup Final after defeating the Dallas Stars 3-1 in Game 5 of their second-round series on Friday night in Dallas.
The Oilers now lead the series 3-2 and can clinch a berth in the Stanley Cup Final with a win in Game 6 at Rogers Place on Sunday night. The puck drops at 8 p.m. MT.
Ryan Nugent-Hopkins led the way for the Oilers with two goals, while Evan Bouchard and Connor McDavid each had two assists. Tyson Barrie scored the lone goal for the Stars.
The Oilers got off to a fast start and took a 1-0 lead just 2:35 into the game when Nugent-Hopkins scored his first goal of the night. The Stars tied the game midway through the first period on a goal by Barrie, but the Oilers regained the lead late in the period on a goal by Bouchard.
The Oilers extended their lead to 3-1 in the second period on a goal by Nugent-Hopkins.
